How To do Bubbles braids for beginners!

This braid is a great alternative to a dutch braid as it adds volume on top of the head. If you are going for the dutch braid look, then you can make smaller bubbles to mimic the other braid better!

In the video below, you will learn how to create a basic bubble braid, then a single bubble braid where you add all the hair in, and then a double bubble braid! If you want a written tutorial instead then scroll down.

How to do a basic bubble braid step by step

  1. Grab all the hair and tie it into a ponytail
  2. Tie an elastic around the ponytail a few centimeters down the hair
  3. Optional: cover the elastic with some hair – (Tutorial: How to cover an elastic)
  4. Pull in the sides of the hair to fan it out and create a bubble
  5. Repeat steps 2-4 until you reach the end of the hair

How to do a single bubble braid for beginners

  1. Create a tiny ponytail at the top of the head
  2. Clip away the first ponytail, so it’s out of the way
  3. Then create a second ponytail right behind it
  4. Then take the first ponytail and the second ponytail and tie them together
  5. Now pull in the hair between the 2 elastics to create the bubble part
  6. Repeat steps 3-5 until you reach the nape of the neck
  7. When there is no more hair to add to the ponytails then create a basic bubble braid

How to do a double bubble braid step by step for beginners

  1. Split the hair into 2 equal sections down the back of the head
  2. Clip away one side of the hair
  3. Create a tiny ponytail at the top of the head
  4. Clip away the first ponytail, so it’s out of the way
  5. Then create a second ponytail right behind it
  6. Then take the first ponytail and the second ponytail and tie them together
  7. Now pull in the hair between the 2 elastics to create the bubble part
  8. Repeat steps 5-7 until you reach the nape of the neck
  9. When there is no more hair to add to the ponytails then create a basic bubble braid

HOW TO PAINLESSLY REMOVE THE ELASTICS

Taking out the elastics can be a pain and hurt pretty bad if you do it wrong! I did that for years, I was struggling to pull them out, using scissors and other things to get them out until I found this amazing tool! It’s an elastic cutter, that won’t cut your fingers or your hair!

Just simply slide the pointy side under the elastic to catch it and pull it down to cut it. Easy, simple, and no pain – highly recommend!
